I always hold out the hope that there are still some songs that Amy recorded in live performances or in the studio that we haven't heard yet. There are some songs that I would have loved for her to have covered. Two in particular that are quite different: When Sunny Gets Blue and Free Bird (lynyrd skynyrd). I like Anita O Day's version of "Sunny" but there aren't many good female covers of Free Bird on You Tube (mostly amateur). Alison Krauss and the Union Station are too far from the original. Winnona Judd does a good version but it's not like I think Amy would do it. Juliet Simms is the closest to the way I think Amy would do it, but her voice doesn't have the power or range that Amy had. Just try to imagine Amy's contralto voice as you listen to Juliet.
If you want , please post songs that you would have loved Amy to cover (and just maybe she did but it hasn't turned up yet). I vaguely remember a similar thread last year but it didn't come up on a search. Anyway, there's a lot of new people here.

"It's not me personally, is it?......I'm just a musician."
But to tell you the truth i would just love to hear any new music that she made that hasnt been put out yet. I just love hearing this women sing!!
I couldn't agree more. In my imagination, I "hear" Amy singing songs that I like in way that only she could sing them.I have little doubt there's more songs out there. I can't wait to hear them.

I would of liked her to do a cover of 'I can't make you love me'.. that would of blown me away. Plus I know it's a song she could of easily done with emotion and related to.
I seem to remember there being a similar topic on this forum about songs you would've liked to see Amy cover, but I can't find it for the life of me...
If anyone can find the link to the other relevant thread, please direct me to it (or merge it).
There are songs that I was surprised to see Amy cover (e.g. Beat it or Stagger Lee), and others I think she could've killed with her phrasing and voice.
