In the documentary, as well as in previous interviews, Amy talked about her and Blake's first breakup, and how they "kept breaking each other's hearts" and she did something bad to "finish the other off". But I thought Blake broke up with her to be with his girlfriend? Did she tell his girlfriend about their affair knowing it would end her own relationship with Blake? That's the only thing I can think of.

The "nail in the coffin" was her sleeping with Blake's friend, if I remember correctly. Blake told her he wanted to end things with her so he could be with his girlfriend, so Amy decided to do the worst thing she could think of in order to get back at him and, in the process, properly end the relationship for good. I think the intention was to hurt him to such an extent that there'd be no coming back from it, partly because she didn't want to have an on/off relationship with him. If I have this right, Amy and Blake's relationship was at least for a time a sort of affair? Blake was with someone else when they first got together, I think. So perhaps she knew that if she didn't do something bad enough to ensure that he wouldn't speak to her again, they'd just end up going back to each other and getting embroiled in all the same shite over and over again. But mainly I think she had been hurt by him and wanted to throw it back in his face by hurting him as much as he had hurt her, and was just rationalising it by saying she had to do something to finish it for good.

 

That's my understanding of the situation anyway.

I was listening to this interview and Immediately I remember this post title hehe In this interview (2006) she also says the part of the documntary " You have to remember everything, how his nose smell etc.. " Excuse me if I understood wrongly the last sentence
