Group Reaction #1 - Amy Rocks Paris

In other words... ZENITH!!!

I thought I'd start this discussion with an account I found from a French fan who attended the concert:

"A lot of channels and radios were here to interview only people who didn't like the show, we wanted to talk but they refused. I'm really sad medias are only about breaking people, I think Amy has had a lot of problems in her life, and medias are a hard factor about how she is now, I told the journalist but she (the journalist) seemed very stupid, so when all medias will have broken true talents like Amy, when music will be just with commercial people, people who are only here to be picture perfect, with a beautiful life etc... what would have we win? talents like Amy is rare, she's not comemrcial, her music his true... why people are so jealous trying to break her"... It's sad that this is how events panned out, and that schadenfreude (getting joy out of seeing others in pain) became so prevalent in the media narrative surrounding Amy.

Set list: http://www.setlist.f...e-1bdfb5ec.html - I can't find videos for certain songs here (Addicted for example) - If you find some please post...

Thread: https://www.amywineh...0-29-not-great/

To find: Fan accounts (search YouTube comments), reviews, picture of ticket, fan pictures, full audio recording (I can dream), and rare pictures (of Amy in Paris, not just inside the theatre...)

It would be cool if this became an archive for the show - where we dump any rarities we stumble across...

QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO ANSWER:

1. What is your favourite song from the show and why?
2. What would you like to add onto the set list?
3. Vocal delivery aside, how do you find her performance and stage presence?
4. Favourite picture from the show
5. Point of interest you found

MY ANSWERS:

1. I Heard Love Is Blind - more relaxed than usual, with added jazzy piano... Her giggles and awkwardness in this performance are so cute... ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glff0DhNIEs )

2. Another Donny cover - maybe band out the holy trinity ( + I Love You More Than... & Song For You)

3. When I used to watch I used to hate it because I thought she was high - but now I think it's just nerves/booze... Does either Mitch's or Janis' book mention this period? Can anyone find some press/articles and information about this week and what she got up to? I'd be interested to find out.

4. ( http://www.celebrity...sels-1030-5.jpg

5. There was venue confusion before the concert. It was originally supposed to be at The Olympia, a larger theatre, but at last minute notice the venue was changed or something? Does anyone know why? (ps: Blake attended - she went off to kiss him a couple of times...)

This is the performance she delivers her iconic "Were Still Friends" performance...

What amazes me about this performance is the effortless belting she brings out of the bag towards the end – it’s almost like she’s a teenager back in stage school. But why is the audience laughing?! Did they all go to mock her, or are they just surprised she could sing that well? I always find that strange.

--

Feel free to talk about whatever you want and post anything - pictures/articles etc... Let's have a geeky Amy discussion...

I started familiarising myself with this show by watching all the YouTube/Dailymotion videos and then doing some light research; I'm interested in finding all the forgotten secrets about this show.

Have a good weekend

1. "We're Still Friends".

2. "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know".

3. She seemed kind of disinterested.

4. http://www.celebrity...sels-1030-3.jpg

5. The show was moved to a larger venue due to the high demand for tickets.

1. Me & Mr. Jones

2. I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know

2. I think she looked pretty distracted for most of the set and it's hard to tell how much she was really enjoying herself, honestly. I think if she could have walked off stage and not come back on, she would have.

4. Probably the one Chris has posted

Between the drug use and Blake, she did have a lot going on around this time. She definitely knew about Blake's legal dilemma, it was obvious when she sang Valerie a week earlier at the Heineken Music Hall. She turned around and sang directly to him 'You don't have to go to jail .... get a good lawy-er-er'.  He was arrested shortly after they got back from this tour.

1. What is your favourite song from the show and why?

Going to go with Valerie on this one, she was really feeling it on this one, phrasing was great and she let her voice loose and just overall seemed to be enjoying it.

2. What would you like to add onto the set list?

Will you still love me tomorrow?

3. Vocal delivery aside, how do you find her performance and stage presence?

Very strange. Engaged fully one moment, then not at all the next. To me it really seems that Amy was more at home in a smaller venue, and not really comfortable in the large ones.

4. Favourite picture from the show

Love the moment in "Just Friends" where she leaves the stage and has to run back, to finish the verse. Also love her performing with the guitar.

I think you are right on with the nerves and booze, more than drugs. What I would give to have seen her live. Glad you picked this show, as I had never watched it.
