Hi folks!I don't want to dig into Amy's personal life but I found she mentioned a sexually transmitted infection that might be related to her death (or her known depression).

I am talking about this interview back in 2006.

At 5.41, while she is talking about her ex-lover George (George what?), she says he gave her the syphilis.

Is this real? Is this another bad joke by Amy? (like the unfortunate"cat AIDS" comment about Katie Melua).

Does anybody know about this issue?Again,I feel is not correct to discuss her private life, but her death does concern me and we already know there has been a lot of factors (drugs, alcohol, anorexia) that contributed to her death. This may be another one for the list.

In my opinion, and after hearing to it many times, I think is a joke, but I'd like to ask you your take on this.

Amy could have a wicked sense of humor sometimes. Other than drinking too much, recovering from drug use, and bulimia - Amy was a healthy person. No signs of syphilis. Her heart stopped because her body could not absorb the alcohol from that night. With everything public about Amy, there  still are parts of her life and friends that are not public. One such friend ensured that a thorough investigation and toxicology etc was done on Amy, as well as knowing who had contact with her recently, and going over her home with a fine tooth comb. Bless that precious heart of hers.

It is very possible she had an std. She did sleep with people like it was no big deal, like she was a guy. But I'm sure she took care of it and got rid of it. And I loooove Amy but yes I have read and listened to many interviews of her saying sex was no big deal, and other people as well. In the documentary for example they said the first time Amy and Blake split up Amy slept with his friend to get back at him. Also her songs tell it
