I didn't watch it in 2011 and I still haven't. I've only seen the parts which are featured in the AMY doc when I saw it in theater (when I rewatch it at home I always close my eyes during the last part). I have the videos in my Amy Archive but I'm pretty sure I'll never watch them.
Has anyone else avoided watching Belgrade?

Thanks. It feels like I will regret it if I watch it so I won't. She could always rely on Zalon. I love their interactions on stage. Such a great guy!
I was a huge Marilyn Monroe fan as a kid (I still am). One day I accidentally stumbled over that published morgue photo of her. I took me years to get that picture out of my head. Thankfully it's completely gone now, but I don't want to go through that experience again. It feels like Belgrade might be something similar. That picture should never have been published. So disrespectful to both Marilyn and her fans.
The saddest Amy gig I've seen is Rock in Rio May 2008, where she's basically lost her voice. No other artist would have been allowed on stage in that state. What's wrong with Ray Cosbert? It's like the guys who exploited Judy Garland.

No, was never able to watch it. I've seen clips here and there, but the whole thing just looks so painful and something that should never have been allowed to happen, so I could never watch it in its entirety.
Incidentally, I feel the same about a lot of her live performances towards the end of her life. The Bestival performance is equally painful, in my opinion. There are some beautiful moments in that performance, but it really is like watching a tormented person being forced to relive awful experiences in front of thousands of people, which of course is exactly what it was.
So much about the final years of Amy's life are truly disturbing on many levels. She should never have been put through the things she was put through professionally while her personal life was so out of control. I don't think it would be allowed to happen today.

@WhoDat beautifully put. I'm positive that her career would have been handled more compassionately if Nick Shymansky had remained at the helm - with Amy's well-being as the primary concern, not money. I don't believe for a second that Shymansky would have allowed her to go through a life performance if she was not feeling well. Cosbert on the other hand...

THEY ALLOWED THE SHOW TO GO ON FOR A BLOODY FUCKING HOUR!
Excuse my language, but seriously?! Everyone just allowed it to continue for so long. Like, it looked like she was begging the band to stop, or take her away, or something. And even if she wasn't, why didn't they stop fricking playing and all walk her off. No one saved her. And really, if not for her, for themselves. It had to be embarrassing and awkward. I hate thinking of it that way, but realistically ....I just don't get it. It makes no sense whatsoever why it wasn't shut down. This is the kinda shit that makes me think about conspiracy's and shit because it's so bloody unbelievable that no one did a thing.

How most of the band members could carry on smiling like that is beyond me. The show must go on I guess, even if it means watching a woman die on stage.
Right???
I still can't believe it. Seemingly as how Zalon especially had her best interest at heart. I feel like they were probably under a bunch of pressure or contract or something, seems to be the only way they could continue on as if nothing was wrong . I feel like they were all under pressure, conspiracy theory as it sounds but it doesn't seem that far fetched.

This is obviously not the only Amy gig that never should have taken place. Something must have been fundamentally wrong with her management. There are so many sad examples in Amy's career where a normal compassionate management would've have canceled right away without caring about financial loss, because that is what this is all about, isn't it. Money. What else could it be?
As I said I haven't seen the videos, but I recall Zalon mentioning in a Youtube comment that the bandmembers were not smiling, even though it looked that way. It's very confusing because all the members of her band seems like good-natured guys.
To add something positive to this thread I have to say, from the pictures I've seen, that Amy looked really beautiful that day. But then again she almost always did.

I watched it and almost cried, but at moments i thought amy was just kidding and was gonna break out any second and be like "Stupid Bitches Really Thought I Was Drunk" i was also saying, cmon amy, you can do it. One of the best singers ive seen sing better than a broken record while drunk
I was hit by a car once on my bike, but I still rode home. - AJW

Can't watch it either or frankly any performances in the 2010/2011 time period (controversial to say this on an Amy forum, I know). She wasn't inspired by the BTB music anymore; it looked like each performance pained her. The Belgrade performance is especially tough.
