Another documentary is coming up on Friday the 19th, Channel 5 (UK) at 10pm ...

The Death of Amy Winehouse - 13 Reasons Why

Amy Winehouse was an extraordinary musician with an unforgettable voice, and her meteoric rise saw her blossom into a truly global star who changed the landscape of modern pop culture. However, the world also witnessed her drug and alcohol addiction, dramatic weight loss and involvement in a destructive relationship. These factors led to her premature death in July 2011, aged 27. This film features contributions from some of those who knew Winehouse well as well as those who tried to help her, telling the story of a towering but troubled talent.

So how many documentaries are titled "the death of..." as opposed to "the music of..." Mitch or to management should put a stop to these kind of documentaries. Despicable

But he refuses to allow a simple makeup line because he "wasn't consulted". I'd bet money the estate makes quite a bit on those documentaries. I also find it interesting that they titled it "13 Reasons Why" (seemingly after that Netflix show)

The only part of this mortifying documentary which gets my approval is the moment when one of the interviewees mentions that Amy was a great guitarist. So there's at least one person who agrees with me on this (if he was being sincere). Obviously I don't mean great when it comes to her technique, but rather her unusual playing style and the intensive emotional involvement she manages to get through her minimalist style.
