Does anyone know of any working method to watch the BBC Documentary from outside the UK?

Alternatively, if any of our UK friends can record it and share it with us right after, that would be truly appreciated!!

Haha, yeah, but many VPNs are blocked by BBC as far as I know. Which one do you use?

Guys I just finished seeing the documentary, I wil disappoint you by letting you know that:
Not unseen footage, just some bits, and childhood video and I think a part from an unheard No Good performance (audio only)
The film was about her downfall, the happiness was just in some childhood videos

It's sad. They could release Dingle Rehearsal, Billie and Me concert, they could release Olympic Athens Ball 2004, nothing. I don't understand why they are sooo reluctant to release material. Even with the backstage Catriona video from a recording studio, it played so little.

One realization is that she probably performed in Sepherd's Bush Empire one more day (the day before the recorded performance),
because at a snippet played from the recorded performance, she says somtehing like: "Where's my dad? Oh in tha spot, the same as last night"

Does anybody know if she performed well that night? (28th May 2007)

The divorce had no effect on her at all

Mitch is blaming Cynthia’s death for her downfall and that she wasn’t there to help Mitch deal with her. Blaming his own mother 💀

That he became the spokesperson for the family when she got sick and that he loved the limelight. At least he finally admitted like he loved the limelight.

That they couldn’t stop her doing shows when sick 💀 - sorry but she’s not the person that organises and books the gigs.

Anyway some cute footage and her singing the alphabet at ages 3 was sweet.

A bit of a misleading title... "Reclaiming Amy"... Where is Amy in this doc? 

 

This documentary didn't do anyone any favours. Actually, I think it damaged Amy's public image. She is depicted as this angsty, hedonistic teen one minute... then the next, she is just a helpless victim. There is no mention of the Amy, the individual. Amy, the friend. Amy, the artist. The clips they chose of Amy (2007 interviews) felt so strange. Why not show us her being witty with Simon Amstell? Or show her knowledge of music with clips from the 2006 Dingle doc? But no... They went with the stereotypical drugs, trauma and tears narrative...

 

From a filmmaking point of view, the documentary was very disjointed and the pacing was incredibly slow. If I wasn't an Amy Winehouse fan, this documentary would have done nothing for me. Someone with a brain should have axed this before it went to broadcast.

Yes, the title was misleading. I'm glad that her family get to tell their side of the story but I wish we got more stories about Amy the artist, not the same old tabloid trash... I don't understand why we can't get a documentary that focuses on her amazing talent and more performances from her childhood. So far the best documentary is the MTV tribute.

I took it as him explaining the negative impact Cynthia's death had on Amy's mental heath and the sadness he feels about her not having been there to guide him and Amy through the tough times.

I applaud him for admitting that he got carried away and should have done things differently - good on him for gaining some self-insight.
