I really am not interested in seeing someone playing Amy, I want the real thing. Yes, Kapadia shouldn’t have access to her laptop, but in general terms, excluding the voice emails that played on the movie as well, it was an in-depth apocalyptic film, that gave us real glimpses onto the real Amy. I wish there was a second documentary about her, just a little more sensitive on her private data.
If you ask my opinion, it’s tragic. They have tons of Amy footage and never release anything. Do they care about the fans? I wish at least the new biopic to have some unrelease Amy music, but I am really tired of this stinginess at sharing stuff they have.
Some fans do really better job for the fanbase than the copyrights owners. I’m fed up with it, really, and I’m not a negative person to speak that way easily.
All that being said, I wish the community had the power to speak to Kapadia in order to release a DVD with unreleased stuff, than have this biopic.
I have to say, Kapadia did justice for Amy. He didn’t have intention to break into her private life, he just wanted to show the real Amy. And he achieved it. We saw the real agony of everyone around the addictions, the bad choices, we saw the real tragedy of her self destruction. And we saw how lightful she was, we heard MUSIC, we saw her growing up in front of us on the big screen. It was a real gift for us fans.”A star is born all over again” You remember the title? That’s the case. Each one took lessons from the film. Us, fans, we loved more our Amy. For addiction centers, the film gave a really good example of what NOT to do with your life. For future generations, it was a historic evidence of what Amy REALLY was.
