Are there any differences in the songs? i noticed cupid is listed as "radio one version". i dont quite see any differences. i suppose this is a fan-made album of the Ska Songs she ALREADY released, not new ones or alternatives.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of BBC Radio 1, a compilation album titled 'Radio 1 Established 1967' was released in October 2007. The album, a collection of exclusive covers especially recorded for Radio 1, included 40 years of radio favorites recorded by 40 different artists (actually a little bit more than 40, since there are some duets). Each artist (or duet) was assigned one of the forty years that Radio 1 has been on air, and they were asked to cover a song from that year.

Being one of the eight Island Record artists that Radio 1 selected, Amy choose to cover 'Cupid' by Johnny Nash (who originally covered Sam Cooke) for the year 1969. She recorded 'Cupid' at Metropolis Studios in London with recording engineer Mathew Lawerence. He later said that she sang two takes of the song and the second was used for her vocal recording. This version of Cupid was the first one released.

A second release using the same vocals and the full track followed on November 12th 2007 on Amy's 'Back to Black Deluxe'. It is labeled as 'Cupid (Deluxe Edition)'. This is also the same version that was later included in the original 'The Ska EP'.

Also using the same vocals, as mentioned in our previous post, the Rhythms del Mundo Cuban version of 'Cupid' was released in July 2009.
