Shits n giggles

Okay hear me out, I always refrain from illegally streaming stuff I consider art, but I just had to roll up n judge-watch Back to Black ... Arghhh.
It's actually hilarious. Obviously there must have been like some kind of guide, or movement teacher n it's a bit over the top, but homework was assigned n done. As for the singing.....uh, as a singer myself I don't wanna judge another's performance, and I also think as a society we should move away from the bashing of others, n she tried to fill such huge shoes so I wanna cut Marisa some slack.
Anyway, I think what the movie might have gotten right was her affection for her nan. Eventhough it was more than evident that she loved Cynthia beyond measure, she was also quite sparse about sharing this incredible relationship with the public since she treasured her so much I guess she wanted to keep that part to herself, which makes Amy even much more adorable. God this woman is my freaking Jesus.
But blah. Like shit I'm 35, I was there and enthralled since Frank, and have to admit to also have been taking it all in. I feel filled with shame 'til the day I die for partaking in this weird dynamic of wanting to know it all. But when someone gifted me Mitch's book back then, I gagged. I knew I've taken in too much already, and also knowing that would never be an authentic record of Amy - since....well Mitch is a snitch. A narcissistic little f**** that exploited his own daughter. Him being painted as the saint in this movie....again stuff worth gagging over. So I left the book - unread, on some random corner of Berlin's night life....along with a leather jacket that was just not mah thang. Sharing is caring.
Marisa..... U can tell she adores Amy. So thanks girl for showing my lil angel some love. It's kind of cathartic to watch actually - I love knowing better anyway hahah, and I was blessed to have been there. The movie needed better writing and better....like someone else entirely to make it. Let's be real. Maybe in 20 years someone might actually be able to pull it off n intergrate the true emotional content with a blend of realness n 4D cinematics I dunno hahah.
So yeah, solid Sunday blunt-watch, but not a true reflection of her time. It's like Lady Sing the Blues.....only then Billie Holiday was actually in charge, but also just not how it went down. But part of magic is to not know it all. Trust me. Life lesson there.
So for everyone who is new to Amy, do YouTube yourself silly, but also honour our sis, stop consuming her like a bag of crisps n let Ames freaking rest. Don't buy the books n shit. Just close your eyes, hear her voice, and there it is, everything you need to know, plus so much more. Trust me. That is enough.
But yeah, random watch.
Peace and out

I think I was put on this Earth to make people laugh. Would have loved to make Amy laugh at least once.

I hardly found the movie entertaining. I was either bored, aggravated, or sometimes felt nostalgic because of the early 2000s pop hits. I don't think it is because I'm difficult to impress, because truthfully, I enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody, though quite a few fans of Queen did not. It did not shit on Queen's legacy, it did have some inaccuracies but so did Weird Al Yankovic's biopic, but that was just a parody of his own life, still funny as hell nonetheless, I loved it.
Back To Black, I'm never watching it again.

Same! It was incredibly boring. Especially all the goddamn Mitch scenes. Or having to sit through all of the performances, just longing to hear Amy’s real voice instead. Toward the end, I kept checking to see how much time was left, that’s how boring it was.I hardly found the movie entertaining. After the divorce, you realize there's barely fifteen minutes left. That's when I knew it was really going to be shit. At least I knew the torture would be over very soon.
