Amy's grandfather, Alec Jake Winehouse, was Mitch's father and died aged 43 in 1967. What was the cause of his death?

Are you sure? Was it her maternal grandfather that played Tenderly on the record player for her? She mentioned this in. Jools Holland appearance. I have never heard her mother’s parents mentioned before…I always assumed she knew Mitch’s father…correct me if I’m wrong somebody…

Yes. On Jools Holland, she refers to "my pop Larry" having played Tenderly - that was Larry Levy who was Cynthia's second husband and Mitch's stepfather, i.e. Amy's paternal step-grandfather.

No idea to be honest. Hasn't Mitch talked about this?

Good question. I haven’t found anything about a cause of death but this gives some background on him:

I also searched Mitch’s book, but there’s no mention of how Alec died.

I don't know what he died of but I recall a documentary where Mitch visited his grave.I don't know what he did for a living but I do know Mitch's grandad owned a barbers shop if I recall correctly.
