AMY BACK TO RONSON

Moody_s_Mood · March 26, 2009, 3:39pm

Just had a giggle when I came across an article called “Mark Ronson Offers To Save Amy Winehouse’s Career”.

Lol! How kind of him. I hope he’s into dark reggae!

^ Haha that’s funny … Yeah right! … lol

I was thinking the same thing when I read that he’s on board. I’m really hoping this is true. It would be such a good thing for Amy and the rest of us as well! Amy + Ronson= Musical perfection

BIGHAIRBARNET:

AMY WINEHOUSE has persuaded MARK RONSON, the man behind her multi- platinum success, to help salvage her third album.

Earlier this week I told you how the singer’s new demos hadn’t gone down well with label bosses.
Now Back To Black’s mastermind is to bring the songs up to scratch.
But it took some cajoling. The last time the pair worked together — in April last year on a Bond theme tune — Ronson threw in the towel because he said Amy “wasn’t ready”.
And he vowed not to work with her until she sorted out her drug problems.
My source told me: “Mark does not have fond memories of collaborating with Amy last year. He said he wouldn’t work with her again until she had her drug problems under control.
“He thinks she’s much better now so has agreed to come on board and do a little work with her on some of her songs.”
Mark, pictured above during a night out in London with girlfriend TENNESSEE THOMAS , has just finished producing indie outfit THE RUMBLE STRIPS ’ latest offering.
My source added: “Mark’s now happy to give Amy the help she requires. They gelled while recording Back To Black and he’s hopeful some of that magic could return.”

Thanks, and BTW welcome!!

Hey, welcome to the board!

That would be so great! I wonder what the deal will be with Salaam Remi though because most of my favourite songs by Amy (Some Unholy War, Tears Dry On Their Own, Me and Mr Jones, F Me Pumps) were produced by him.

^^ I was thinking the same thing! I hope she works with Salaam again.

^ I would like to see Salaam back, too, for the same reason. He’s been somewhat overlooked, imo, for his contribution to B2B. The production on the ‘original’ Some Unholy War is phenomenal. Talk about atmospheric…

kevd7 · March 26, 2009, 11:39pm

^^ i’ve often wondered about that. has he been overlooked or it’s as he wants it. who knows. he’s a genius.
listening to b2b while driving the prius today and boy, i couldn’t believe the instrumentation i was picking up on that i never paid attention to before. maybe it’s the advantage of a diff sound system or whatever. i played it over and over again. the song b2b is so lush, i thought nelson riddle would have been so impressed!! there can be no question that the album is pure artistry at it’s highest peak. and so damn deserving of those 5 grammys. shoulda got more!!!

Hello, new one!

Moody_s_Mood · March 27, 2009, 3:15pm

I’m still trying to hunt down the wanker that said Back To Black would get too dark if they put the original version of Some Unholy War on it. I owe him a backhand slap to the left cheek.

A few weeks back i sent Salaam a message on twitter asking him if he was going to be working on Amy’s new album and he sent me a message back saying that he was. So fingers crossed!

Moody_s_Mood · March 27, 2009, 3:29pm

Wickedness!

PabloD · March 27, 2009, 7:16pm

Lol! So it was you! I knew that a member of the forum had sent him a Twitter response regarding that but didn’t remember who. That’s cool! Thanks luv.

I’m unbelievably ecstatic for this. Amy’s a fighter and she’s getting what she fought for!
