It’s the Sun don’t forget: AMY WINEHOUSE’s tour manager has quit — saying doctors found HEROIN in his system after he inhaled it passively on their bus. Thom Stone said working with drug-addled Amy and her husband was harming his health. It was revealed just a day after the singer went into meltdown on stage, slurring her words and insulting fans as hundreds walked out. Stone hit breaking point when Amy, 24, and hubby BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL were arrested with cannabis in Norway last month. He produced a doctor’s note which revealed traces of heroin — known as “smack”. Last night Stone would not comment on the doctor’s note, but confirmed he had quit. A source said: “He was constantly bailing her out. “He was watching them get off their heads on drugs and wondering whether Amy was even going to get up on stage. It was a nightmare job.” But a pal of Amy’s said: “When he produced this note Blake and Amy thought it was a joke. “They didn’t get on with Thom and were taking the p\*\*\* when he tried to pull that excuse to leave. They wanted rid of him anyway.” Last night fans blasted Amy for her shambolic show at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena. Michelle Page, 44, from Mansfield, Notts, left after 15 minutes. She said: “Amy treated fans like something she had trodden in.” Chris Masters, 19, of Birmingham, said: “She was demanding drinks the whole time. She could barely sing.” Earlier, Amy had visited Blake, 25, in Pentonville Prison, North London. He is accused of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. She was scheduled to play in Glasgow tonight and tomorrow — but sobbed to pals that she wanted to pull out. Last night her record company insisted the gigs were still on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did quit for other reasons maybe not the drugs ---

I can’t say I blame him. How can you manage tours with an unpredictable artiste? The bit about ‘smack’ is just more media bollocks in my opinion. He chose his time to announce his departure - after a bad show ---

I’m just taking this story as her tour manager quitting (the heroin thing - whatever), but it makes me think the situation must have been really bad for him to quit. Tour managers have to be tough - there’s a constant supply of drugs in the industry - they have to be babysitters, really, and if he couldn’t handle this, then I dread to think how bad it was.
