She had just come out of her dentist's office, I believe.

Funny how I remember little stuff like that. I was such an Amy-ologist.

Love people with gaps in their teeth...they tend to tell the truth.

Madonna refused to 'fix' the gap between her two front teeth, although her management tried to talk her into it. I always loved her for that.

Nice...go Madonna! In west Africa it's considered a mark of royalty.

I love, love, love Frank Sinatra. The thought of Amy and Frank singing together blows my mind!

This is one of my favorite albums (by anyone)

I also think he and Amy would have gotten along so well together-there would have been an instant click. His phrasing like hers, was impeccable. I've always been in awe of his phrasing. Like Amy, when he did a cover-he put a totally new spin on it and somehow made it his own(just like she did). So many parallels between the two.

I love some latin jazz and am a total fan of Antonio Carlos Joabim. He did an amazing album with him, which happens to be one of my favs.

I remember when he passed. my brother (who is also a total nut fan of Frank's) and I sat glued to the tv.

sigh. why are all the ones I adore gone?

sorry to derail thread. 2 weeks today and i guess I just feel like blabbering.

I agree, Susan. Imo, Frank's phrasing and timing were unique and that, as you say, like Amy is one of the things that unites them and separates them from others.

Imo, Frank's voice is quite good, technically, and Amy's is off the charts in that regard. Was it Frank who called Mr. Bennett the best in the business?

But it's what frank and Amy DO with their voices that interests and impresses me. I need to explain myself a bit here

I think a HUGE part of Frank's success comes from his most frequent (and earliest) collaborators - Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. It just wasn't the same without him

Sorry for droning on. Can someone please post a pic of Amy now?
So we can get back on topic - ha!
