Interesting take on Valerie lyrics:

from youtube comment on the DL vid:

"I hope you didn't catch a tan means I hope you stayed in doors and didn't go outside in the sunshine in other words stay locked in a room with a man because it is followed by the line I hope you find the right man who fixed it for you.
When people get married it is common for people to say dont come back with a tan."

I don't agree, but I found it interesting how we all come at things from such different angles.

there is, when you consider this....

"i saw a TV interview with the zutons and they said it's about a friend of theirs who got caught drink-driving.

OOOOOH I agree with that, that makes so much sense!

It's like the line In My Bed, "the only time I hold your hand, is to get the angle right..." see I dunno what I pictured, but it's meant to be a sexual allusion... uhm it WORKS!!! It's kinda graphic if you think bout it...

See I just assumed it meant I hope your skin stayed milky and white... he mentions her ginger hair, so I guessed it meant if she lay on a beach her hair would probs clash with her tan maybe I read into things too deep lol!

OOOH wow never knew that... lol love songs like that... like Alfie by Lily Allen... sounds daft but songs like that seem more real, I know Winehouse's stuff is real, but I love songs about people... specially people you don't know, cuz it's kinda personal to the artist, and songs like that tend to do well!
