Washington (ANI): Pink has confessed that she tries to distance herself from Amy Winehouse in a bid to stay away from drugs.

The "Get The Party Started" hitmaker has herself faced a long battle with drug abuse, when she was a mere struggler, and now fears that she might get tempted to take drugs if she meets the "Back to Black" popstar.

"If I got together with Amy Winehouse it would be bad news, that was me ten years ago but different drugs, I have been clean for a long time now but I am glad I did it then," Contactmusic quoted Pink, as telling a British newspaper The Sun. "I f**ked up like crazy and no one gave a s**t when I was Alecia Moore and got away with it, I can throw down, I still get stuck in, I have house parties now but it is mainly red wine andd civilised now," she added.

The popstar also insisted that she thinks highly of Amy Winehouse as a popstar. "Amy Winehouse is awesome, her music is the core of her and she is f**king brilliant," Pink said.

I feel like people ask other people about Amy to get a reaction far too often. How are people who don't know her and/or may not even be fans or her music supposed to comment on her drug problems? I guess it gives the tabloids another excuse to mention crack now that Pete Doherty has cleaned up his act a bit and isn't helping to sell papers as much anymore.

I see what you mean because Pink didn't say anything about avoiding Amy. You don't even know what Pink said before she made her statement or what question was asked.

Even if she did say it, I don't think it's that bad. I'd try to stay away from anything triggering as well. It isn't like she's saying that Amy is a horrible person.
