Singer has been working on the follow-up to 'Back To Black'

Amy Winehouse has reached the demo stage of her forthcoming new album, the follow-up to the hugely successful 'Back To Black'.

Lucian Grange, Chairman and Chief Executive of Winehouse's label, Universal Music Group, told BBC 6Music that the troubled singer had played him demos of the new material and previewed some of the songs live.

"I've heard some demos," he said. "I've heard some simple acoustic songs that she's played me in my office on acoustic guitar, and what I've heard has been sensational."

The forthcoming album will be the singer's first since October 2006.

"I believe in her as a person and I certainly believe in her as an artist and that's what I hope for," Grange added.

I bloody hope she's not being pushed and she's doing this because she really wants to... Fab news none the less. Thanks!

I hope as well that she's not pushed, because I can understand that working on a new album is not all she thinks about right now.

But at least it's a news about music and it didn't happen in a long time ! :D

Interesting. NME is a more reliable source than the Sun or Mr.Poop, I guess. Hopefully it's true. I have a good feeling.

Sometimes the hamster wheel gets boring, I'm glad Winehouse decided to get off.

Ohhhh......... well, I hope it's true.

I agree with Pablo - Amy has to WANT to do this, and has to be well enough to do it.

BBC version adds the line: "He said he has absolute faith in her return to form, saying: "Of course, because I'm an optimist and I believe in her"
and this lovely headline: Winehouse comeback 'sensational'

I like Grainge. Yeah, he made her go into rehab last year, but like most medicine it's yucky and goes down roughly but it's good for ya. I'm glad that he's still in the picture.

I am a pessimist and I feel the same.

'Grange explained to BBC 6 Music" - it must be true then.
And they said it on BBC 6 Music News again, just heard it.

And I go back to... I go back to us.

Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word

Finally some real news, considering BBC is reporting it, and qouting Grange, as oposed to some tabloid which qoutes "unnamed source"!
