AMY WINEHOUSE is being referred to as the “Pied Piper of St Lucia” by locals, who have been impressed by the songbird’s generosity towards the island’s children.

The generous Grammy-winner took six kids from near her new island home to the picturesque Cotton Bay on Saturday to play on the beach.
A source told me: “Amy is happiest when she’s with children — kids love her. The children she took to the beach on Saturday were following her round and all vying for her attention.
“She’s determined to do as much as she can for local kids as they’re a lot less fortunate than she is.”
Dad Mitch, who flew over late last week to be with Amy, joined in the excursion too and enjoyed some horse-riding along the sandy stretch.

well, it's not quite what I had suggested back in July of last year

"... she should get her mind off herself and volunteer .....

or start an r&b/jazz music camp for underprivileged kids... :dunno:"

but, it's great to know that she is giving of herself in a wholesome way these days.

Sooner or later, Amy inevitably ends up taking Sue's advice, or something close to it.

Definitely beats seeing Amy crawling home at 5 AM in Camden.

I've been - we've all been - noticing for a while how often and how well Amy and children go together; the soothing influence appears to go both ways, and that is just great. Being with children so much will probably do her more good than any therapy or program could, as it is a natural way of healing old wounds, and in spite of the past, natural Amy still very much is. So she's healing well, I imagine.
Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

It's precisely because the synergy between her and children is so beautiful, that I was so devastated to hear, in Lainey's youtube link re
"Stephen Fry and the secret life of a manic depressive" in part 5 that

"Researchers have made another devastating discovery.
Pregnancy itself and the act of childbirth have now proved to be enormously dangerous to the mental health of women who are already bi-polar."
"
Something about post natal euphoria and/or post natal mania.

If Amy is in fact bi-polar, I certainly hope that she can have her own children without dire consequence.

that would be awesome if she would start a camp like that. Things like that are good for the spirit and soul :)

Most of the burn is on the front of her left thigh, with the child leaning against it, so I think it's more to help the healing process by leaving it less exposed, especially to the sun, 'cause the hot sun would hurt, but also when there's a child in front of her on the horse. Jeez, I needed a lot of words for that...

Wow, no shit! The 'writers' at The Sun really feel the need to spell things out for people, don't they? (see also: orange juice bottle).
