I am wondering why there are so many b-sides of amy leaked out but without this incredible song.
And i want to ask you about amy's attitude towards billie. It seems to me amy didn't like billie?Because i saw amy saying "fuck her(it means billie)" in an interview. And in the thanking list of the "Frank" album, there is no name of billie.

Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word

I have the 41 secs of this song from the Barbican hall May 04.I only have the clip that some nice guy posting here.Though it 's less than a munite, yet it surprises me and impresses a lot. It's like a more powerful , younger and more rebel dinah washington singing the neol-blues.

I think Amy has tired of the comparison though, because usually journalists are inferring that she is 'tragic' like Billie, rather than making any meaningful comment on their music. And actually it really annoys me when people describe Billie as tragic. She was a hell of a woman, not some sad junkie victim. This cliche comes from people who have no idea what it's like to fight racism on a daily basis like Billie did.
I like both Billie and Amy but I see them as quite different. Billie had quite a small, girlish voice though her powers of expression were immense. Obviously her voice changed over time and was ravaged by drugs, but her artistry never left her. She was a warrior and an inspiration.
Amy has a bigger voice though, it reminds me more of Dinah Washington or Janis Joplin. Like Billie she sings her life in music, but they are both unique. I kind of wish Amy had been more gracious about Billie but she is a person who says what's in her gut at any given time and so was Billie. Billie often bitched about people but there was no deep malice in her, she just couldn't lie.
