Just came across a review of D'Angelo's latest release and it mentions a track featuring Amy Winehouse. Here's what it says:

http://www.soulmusic.com/djrife.html

9. R&B Jesus (featuring Amy Winehouse)

Rolling Stone scribe Robert Christgau memorably referred to DAngelo as an R&B Jesus when he titled a Voodoo era feature for the mag. Comparing him to the star of the bible ensured the article got noticed. There will be a few raised eyebrows after DAngelo named a song using the tagline, but this isnt a Michael Jackson Im the king of pop moment, DAngelo along with featured artist Amy Winehouse find comfort in the ridiculousness of their own celebrity and how it caused them to want to escape using whatever was readily available, in the process enjoying each others company in a way addicts do at an NA session. The backdrop is a Little Richard influenced piano led groove, with D & Amy growling over a rock and roll beat, nicking the lyrics to the chorus from the Beatles Ballad Of John & Yoko, singing:

Christ you know it aint easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are goin
Theyre gonna crucify me.

Its possible (as theres no credits) this was co-produced by the excellent Raphael Saadiq (ala Lets Take A Walk). After 1000 Deaths its the best cut on the album and has been worth waiting 10 years for. Heres a bit of sizzle: Its rumored Kanye West felt he should be on the song and wanted to do a verse however he was rejected on the grounds of him being a jackass

I hope it's true.
D'angelo is an amazing artist, who has an "above and beyond" soulful voice. I don't even have to write about his songs, which are fantastic by the way lol.
I would love to listen something from them two!

i sent an e-mail to this website, so they would confirm if all this detailed description of the album was true.....they say it's fictional...
my question:

hello there, my name's Sofia, i'm a girl from Portugal who just needs an answer regarding D'angelo's upcomings.
I read on souljones blog (http://www.soulmusic.com/djrife.html) a nice story about talented D and also a review of his supposedly new jams. i was pretty excited, to be honest, the tracks seem quite interesting, just like his collaborations (Amy winehouse and Andre 3000!).
Unfortunately i have some doubts about this, but i'm counting on your answer to clear my mind, for better or for worse.

thanks and please answer ;)

their answer:

Hi Sofia

This is an "homage" by the writer of the blog Soul Jones. It is fictional except for the actual track "1000 Deaths".

Thanks

Michael
