These are only general indicators, of course; not every BP fits the bill to a T.

What exactly is Personality disorder? x
One definition is that an individual with this condition didn't form a balanced personality in childhood and don't function normally as an adult.
I think Amy was probably spoilt as a child as she was the 2nd child and a girl also when she was 9 due to her father getting another woman that resulted in divorce that at this stage in her life Amy was allowed to get away with a lot of things she may not have got away with, if there hadn't been a divorce. Which lead to the state in which she was taking drugs like sweets latter on in her life! Also a question I have is; at this point did her mother Janis have another man in her life? Because it seems apparent that even though they were divorced Mitch was at their house a lot as if he was still the husband.

I just think that Janis and Mitch was very close. Maybe they had to also because they had two kids and they have to communicate with each other to make things work. That is a issue many couple that go through divorce cannot handle and the kids is the victims in this.
I also think that they were really close because of Amy's career and because of her drug and alcohol abuse.

I read somewhere when she was young, Mitch was always working away as he was a travelling salesman, I think Janis said this in "Saving Amy".
