But the thing is that, with few exceptions, critics aren't bad at their job, each one has a specific taste, you just have to find the ones that are closer to your.

There is nothing wrong with not being into a certain but a lot of these critics nowadays ALMOST ALWAYS brings the artist personal life outside their music(whether a pop singer, a rapper, jazz musician, country star,etc.).
Off the top of my head the only reviewer I can think of that CONSISTENTLY review an album or movie without any bias is a guy named Roger Ebert.(did I spell it right?)
Anyway I'm still unsure about if I am going to buy this Lioness album.....
Are their going to be MORE new songs . I want to hear original recordings of songs that haven't been heard before. Not just one or two. I was hoping for a significant part of the cd to be like that.
I never got around to hearing the extended version of Like Smoke....Does Nas still seem to have a longer verse than Amy in the extended version?
Can you guys let me know updates? I have been super busy with classes at college and relieved I have at least some time off for the time being for thanksgiving break.

The problem with critics in this day and age in the modern world....is the fact that they STRUUGLE so hard with staying on topic with a review for an album a musician is releasing. The way they talk you would think they were doing a feature story for rolling stone magazine.

No, it's the same as the radio version, except Amy's added chorus in the end.
I'll wait to hear the album before saying anything, but I can see where the negative reviews might come from. From what we know, it doesn't really have a clear idea or concept, it's a bunch of songs thrown together, most finished without her opinion or consent, so it might not be as representative of Amy as her producers and family would want it to be. If you take in mind it's also conveniently released before Christmas, makes you wonder about the true intentions of the release. On the other hand, Salaam seems well-intentioned and honest so idk. But without knowing all that, I doubt it's anything other than a good album because her voice would make a Cheeky Girls cover album sound classic.
He still stands in spite of what his Mars bar says.

I think its a tad rushed, esp on top o Christmas, jus fuels all tha nobs out there, as Amy got no say in it.
Like a broken record, there several of her tracks, from when she was 17, upto now, dat she wrote, they could put out, shame they sayin, twas her wish they stay in vault, jus a waste n when an artist thinks its shit, it usually in mint!, if we got an album like dat, brilliant, coz outa evrfin she's done, i can't see several covers bein tha best they could find, even tho she nails em. x

Yes, and what is also really bothering me is that ONLY ONE POUND from each album sold is going to the foundation!! Why? Where is the rest of the money going? Surely the foundation should at least get what Amy would have got from the profits.

I can type like i'm sat in an office, choose not to, write how i choose to .
Could have took their time n gave us sumat more personal, what Amy would have approved of. x
I had to reread that five times :wacko2: The commas make it sound like a hip hop tune in my head when I read it!
