I randomly found this article from 2007... did she end up doing this? So sweet and adorable!
Amy Winehouse is planning to donate $ 1 Million to a Romanian orphanage after discovering that hair weaves, similar to the ones she uses in her signature beehive, can come from such places.
“Amy met a lovely lady from the group Beauty Hurts and they started chatting about the real hair racket,” a Winehouse insider tells Goss Star reporters.
“Hair weaves are huge in America and becoming more and more popular over here.”
“Amy had no idea orphans were exploited. She knows where her weave comes from and to be honest, it’s the States where most of the unethically culled hair ends up but she still wanted to help.”
“Amy actually wants to keep the donation secret. But she’s setting such a good example it needs to be known.”

Damn, I hate this. She is and she will be. No past tense!
The usage of present/past when someone dies is confusing to me. I think when talking about personality/physical characteristics it is definitely in the past
But if I watch performances/look at pics I'll talk about her in the present... like, her voice IS great, her smile IS beautiful. But her music will forever be present because it continues to exist!
