Hi! Dear friends, I have been thinking of all the new Amy W. tribute bands that are appearing, such as Ani Rodríguez and addicted band or dina and the holy band. I would like to know your opinions about this. I don't really like them but I think it's fine that they let people to know Amy's legacy. In fact, amy's band musician, Robin, usually play gigs with Ani.:afro:

I think it's great. There are so many musicians we all love who aren't here anymore and lot of people who didn't get the experience to see them live. There are also bands with all living members that refuse to suck it up and play live---Guns n Roses for instance...Shit even the Rolling Stones don't talk to each other but can get together every so often and play a giant sold out arena. Yay tributes!

Well, I see it completely differently, Amy's music was so special, I don't want to listen to so-called "tribute bands" (and don't listen to them) because their music is unique to me and I believe that no one should replay it. Maybe you can do that with other artists like Madonna etc. She not only composed her music herself, but also experienced everything herself beforehand. Amy always said that she tried to stand out from the crowd, to be different. And that a wave of so-called “tribute bands” are now singing their songs, they would definitely laugh their heads off. Sorry, a real honor for me would be to recognize what a great artist she was, who cannot be compared to anyone. And then let it go and not ape it.
