Hi everyone,
In my opinion the lyrics of Some Unholy War elude to the fact that Blake was known to Amy as a heroin addict when she was in love with him,

'Sill stands in spite of what his scars say...'

She was with him through withdrawals..... She couldn't beat it so she joined... perhaps....
:heart:She denied knowing what the song was about, but i think that's bullshit.

Like she says, 'B i would have died too.'
She was so committed to him, it's obvious. Perhaps a bit naive about heroin, but in the best way.
It's hard to understand unless you've seen someone go through it....

What do you think?

I'm not sure if she was saying she'd join him, but certainly she wasn't go to let go of him or end things because of his addictions. It's certainly the darkest and most difficult of her songs - it can be taken as a statement of love for him, but it's also written in a past tense that suggests that things didn't work out.

The second verse also infamously alludes to a suicide pact between them, and it was stated in court that Blake had attempted suicide on 5 previous occasions.

What part is written in the past tense?
