I know you have already seen this. But it amazes me the beauty of this video: the fact that some kids were singing the happy birthday song at random and all of a sudden a wonderful and powerful appears to finish the song with such a pure and rich tone! It reminds me of Billie Holliday and Dinah Washington. It is worthy to mention the way she holds the lollipop as if it was a cigarrete, just like jazz singers. Note how all the kids stop singing just to listen to that voice. I wonder what happened immediately after that: what their reactions were, what they told Amy, etc.
And she was only 12 years old (or so).
I am so sad that we lost her...
Thank you Asif Kapadia for making a documentary with authentic material. I hope she is singing with the angels. Probably they wanted to include Amy in their orchestra and that's why she left us....
