This song by Zutons was released in June 2006.

 

As far as I remember this is the only 2006 Amy's perfomance of this song available on the internet.

 

 

Was this really the first time she performed this cover in public ever? Is there any record of Amy performing this song before XFM Sessions Scotland(which I took place in October? November? December 2006)?

I think that there may have been a mislabeled date shown for the XFM 'Valerie' video posted on YouTube.

It has been mentioned by both Jools Holland and Wikipedia saying "the track was first performed by Winehouse on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge show on BBC Radio 1" in January 2007.

 

When Amy was at XFM in Glasgow, she was on the 'Paul N'Jie Urban X Show' where she performed the session songs.



This photo of Paul and Amy looks like it was taken when she was in Glasgow for her Carling Academy appearance on February 27th 2007. I never could find the exact date that she was on Paul N'Jie's radio show, but based upon process of elimination and assumption, I think that she may have been there on the 27th or 28th of February.

Thanks for clarifying. Never saw that picture. What is the exact date of Jo Whiley session? I am asking this because the DL sessions took place on January 16.
That version on Jo is probably the best maybe that is why it is the first one!

No info on 2004. Great find! I didn't even know about that appearance! Well, trying to dig up info for that will at least keep me out of trouble for a while, haha
