I've decided to create this space in order to share websites, videos, forums, blogs etc. about Amy BEFORE her huge success with her second album. This is indeed specific material in a moment in which Internet wasn't as globalized as today.

I believe it's interesting to see how Amy (who was relatively unknown in the music industry) was perceived by people on the Internet. In fact, people were quite rude towards Amy, critizing her body and physical aspect -this shows the hypocrisy of society- . Some others, on the contrary, showed support and concern for her health. Anorexia was even included in the comments section.

 

On August 3rd 2006 one user wrote "Frank is indeed a great album- hard to believe she wrote it when she was in her teens. One of her new songs is called Rehab and has the chorus, 'tried to make me go to rehab; I said no no no'.

" This means that at this point some of her songs were already leaked and known to the public. This expectation by her fans really breaks my heart...

On August 22nd one user revealed the name of the album.

Another person commented " I found her voice lithe and something that I am sure will age buetifully ". He/she was SO right.

I think her art is mostly only appreciated after her death, just like with many famous artists throughout history.

I still see people comment about her look, people haven't really changed. It's just that society holds more compassion for mental health now and troubled artists like Amy.

Amy really had it rough breaking in the 00s, but even if she wouldn't have died I think she'd be like Britney Spears is now.

The depth of the lyrics (considering it was written in her teens) amazes me to this day. I always discover something new about her songwriting, that doesn't happen with all the artists. 

Same with Back To Black, which was writen when she was 22/21.
