Longtime amy fan and have been on this forum on-and-off over the years... always seem to lose access to my accoutns ugh.

 

Watched a spanish camrip of the film and i'm cringing.

 

Although we knew it was going to be bad from the pre-production days, i was honestly hoping for the best... Man i'm so mad

 

Traitors, money hungry family, and money hungry record label culminates in this shitty film.

 

Wish they would let her music age gracefully and let people discover her on their own

 

Instead we're revisiting that disastrious era in 2008/2009 which was really horrific playing out in real time and the outcome wasn't really that surprising

That's what I fear the most: people who discover Amy through this biopic will end up having a distorted idea of who she really was.

It's so sad and makes me so angry, I feel like they're trashing Amy and her art and I can't understand how people like Ade and Dale, who Amy thought so highly of, can betray her like that. I have to admit, I haven't been idle lately, writing my criticism behind every trailer etc. where possible. And then there are actually “fans” who like the film! This movie feels like rape to me and it makes me sick to think of people thinking that's what Amy was like. But the film also shows that there are people who see through the bad game (Zalon, Tyler, Dionne, Juliette, both Nickys...). The film shows that Mitch Winehouse literally walks over corpses. For him only he exists and for me he has lost all sympathy because he could have intervened, the fact that he didn't shows his true character.

By the way, I watched the supposedly terrible concert at the NIA in Birmingham again, Amy bravely sang her way through the sad songs (which was met with jeering) and at the end she couldn't emotionally anymore. How can people cheer when their “star” is on stage and crying? How can they bawl when Amy drinks? Sorry, they're not fans for me.
