i don’t know, Mike. Amy had her path to follow, and to wish Blake had never happened to her is to wish Amy was a different person other than the young woman she is. I know in my own life i’ve made fucked up choices, and Blake was her choice to make imo. So there’s responsibility there for that choice. I guess I’m saying she was perhaps a victim on one level with Blake being the victimizer, but hopefully she’s taking back her personal power and moving on having learned a few things about herself from her journey to the dark side with Blake.
Blake has built his own prison and that for me is enough.
Blake gave her the drugs, it was Amy’s choice not to take them. IMHO, fame was thrust upon a young woman ill-equipped to deal with pressure and wealth. I just wish her management firm and media would stop focusing on Amy Winehouse, drug addict, and just focus on the young woman trying to get her life and health back. I understand that Winehouse needs to complete her contractual obligations, including the forever-promised album, but in her fragile state, it’s too much. Everyone wants a piece of Winehouse, not realizing that it is taking a toll. She really needs to complete this album, go to a REAL mental health facility and take a couple of years off, from everything and everyone.
Good “wrap-up”, Rockesquirrel. I think we all know that it is Amy’s problems and not Blake’s, but Amy looks so blinded by her man, that it’s hard for me to see how she can start to heal with him in the picture. I just wish he stays far, far from her, that’s all. I think she needs to be forgotten by the media, and things will start to get back on track gradually.
And if she does make a new album whenever it feels to be the time, I don’t wish her a second “rehab”.I don’t think she needs or wants to be a superstar. She just needs to be an artist, that’s all.
Thank you, but as fans, it’s hard that Winehouse is a person, first and foremost. It is hard to tell the difference, so many people love her spirit, spunk and twist on today’s music. IMHO, her management and the media have made a mint off of this woman’s pain, that’s equivalent of the ancient Romans siccing lions on innocent folk.
Agreed - that is what makes me most angry, the feeding off a young person’s suffering. However frustrated I get with Amy at times, I have to feel for her going through a private hell played out as soap opera.
Agree.
I never want to hurt someone because they hurt me or someone I care about, because doing that only makes you just as bad as them. Plus, there are a lot more evil people than Blake around.
I don’t really wish for any actual harm to come to him but when I typed that I just finished reading that story about him trying to blackmail her and it really pissed me off. If this is true that is beyond low.
