Don’t panic, I’m not one of those crazy fans who absolutely want to become a copy of Amy Winehouse. ^^ But here’s a way to honor her in my way! I find this tattoo very nice and I’ve always loved the anchors.
I read about it, and it is something very positive. Before, I wanted to tattoo a nice boat with an anchor but when I saw the tattoo of Amy, I fell in love with it. This is one of her prettiest. I also like the lightning and her bird, but the horseshoe and the lady topless ones are not really my favorite.
This is my way of honoring Amy. I didn’t want me to tattoo her face or something like that. I respect those who did but I think it’s a little too much…
Now it is much more beautiful because the photo was taken the same day.
Oh and I also read that this tattoo was formerly the symbol for the prostitutes who was working in port. (I already had the tattoo when I learned it. ^ ^) I know it was something between Amy and Blake because he had written the inscription Sailor inside his lip but I wonder if she was aware of the old meaning. If so, Amy was certainly no shortage of humor! Haha !!
Wow! I love it
Oh and, I have to add this: nice piercing!
I absolutely love the anchor and the songbird tattoo, but I have always wanted a little ace of hearts tat on one of my fingers like Amy had, simply because I am not a very big fan of huge, colored tattoos, and to be honest, I am rather scared of getting big tats as I have never been to a tattooist before. I think that once I have my finger tatted up I’ll probably get some more, bigger tattoos though.
@Katausa : Thank you for the compliment. In fact, it’s the opposite for me! I love the style of Amy (regarding her tattoos) I want to have a lot and you’re right heart is nice too, but I don’t like the A.
And about piercings, I have the navel, tongue and two holes on each ear. I love it
In fact, I had noticed before doing it and I explained to the tattoo artist that I wanted it with no dot either but I guess she forgot. ^^ I was so disappointed! But I got used to it and I think now that it is the small difference that makes it unique and therefore slightly different from that of Amy lol.
I’m getting Amy’s bird tattoo done hopefully in the next month or 2, I’ve found a smaller, simpler design which I think looks amazing. I can’t wait i just gotta fit it in ;D
@Tiny Penny : Oh yes I remember those close to her grandmother? I don’t know if you ever had a tattoo on your belly but I can tell you that for me it wasn’t painful. In fact, this may seem strange but it tickled me. ^^ I guess it’s because of the pressure that the tattooist put to work, and unfortunately I moved because it tickled me to much -.- . If you look closely, there is a tiny spot of ink inside the anchor up. This is because I couldn’t stop laughing! Well good luck! Maybe when you have done, you could post a picture so others can see. I understand you’d prefer not though.
Lucky you. I love the bird. I would like to have it too but I figure that if I make more like those of Amy, it would look exaggerated.
Aw you can hardly notice it! Good to know that it wasn’t too painful tho! I went with my friend a few months ago and she was in agony! She had one done on her wrist so maybe that is a more sensitive part! Yes, i will post a pic once I get round to getting it done!
it’s always a wee bit more painful where the skin is thinner or tighter, ie on the wrists like you say, or on the elbows etc
I’ve already had two tattoos and neither of them particularly hurt. I am planning to get a sleeve tattoo at some point which will incorporate all kinds of stuff I love (mainly rock’n’roll), and Amy will be there for sure. I’m just not sure whether it will be her face or something that will symbolise her.
@stranger :I’m sure it will be lovely. I don’t particularly like the Rock ‘N’ Roll music but I love the look. A little trash, which is unusual. Amy had this side a little rebellious in her look and I love it. She went from one extreme to another. From Jeans and t-shirts, to dresses slinky newly old. This obviously includes tattoos! Her way of mixing styles, fabrics and colors, it was great.
I share a bit the same style as her own, which means having almost all the styles together. Without boasting, I am often complimented on my outfits sometimes daring.
I admire people who have their own style no matter how outrageous or nonconformist.
Amy could look pure class whilst being rock’n’roll at the same time; all those wonderful dresses mixed with the tattoos and the crazy 60s hair she pulled off like a boss - gotta love it pal
Any time I’ve tried to make my hair look like that I’ve looked like a proper idiot!
