I think I’ve heard Howard Stern mentioning how talented he thinks Amy was before.
Really interesting that Amy was too intimidated to work with Sia!
I wish Amy would’ve done an interview with him. he’s an amazing interviewer, insanely curious and really gets people to open up
I heard him saying before that they tried to get her in for an interview, but their people couldn’t get anywhere near her to ask. I find it odd that she would be that difficult to get in touch with or that there would be people around her stopping anyone from getting close to her. Howard usually gets his musical guests to perform in studio too, which would have been cool. I really like him as an interviewer too. I think an hour with Amy would have been very insightful.
I think their problem was they were being too official. they easily could’ve wrote and ask her (or Mitch, he sees everything) on twitter lol.
I heard him say that too but I don’t believe him.. if there was an award for most approachable celebrity Amy would’ve probably won, maybe she just ignored hes request or something
Being approachable with fans and such might be a bit different to trying to get someone to come in for an interview though, especially with someone like Howard Stern who is going to ask awkward questions about stuff that she may not have wanted to talk about. I could quite easily believe that they couldn’t get in touch with her too. Bearing in mind too that Howard Stern records in New York. They would have had to have pretty good timing to get her whenever she was free in New York. Would have loved if they could gave gotten her in.
I came across an old interview of Sia, she mentioned Amy quite often back then it seems:

It’s funny, some of her earlier stuff (that predates Frank) does remind me of Amy a little. I can see how Amy might have been influenced by Sia, definitely.
