"That's the ideal," he reflects. "To do well enough that you just don't worry about dipping out of the game for a year and having everyone forget you."
\"it was as if all the emotions in the universe suddenly were coming out of her mouth.\" --Entertainment Weekly music critic Chris Willman.

Rehab "made" by Mark! It's like he can't help himself!
http://www.digitalsp...ab-success.html"I was shocked when 'Rehab' became a hit here because I had basically resigned myself to believe that I was never going to make anything that was going to be more than a niche record here," he said.

^ You know, dunno if you were serious or not, but you really hit it there. There are a few hip hop producers who really did a good thing with sampling, and not only hip hop (see He can only hold her), but most of (especially nowadays) hip hop is just crap. How hard can it be to put a beat over a sample? How stupid can you be (hear me, kanye) to sample "move on up" or any other great song and get a grammy for it? I think Curtis Mayfield would have had a heart attack if he was alive when his work got sampled like that.
Sampling should be done by people who know how it works.

Will you definitely be producing Amy Winehouse’s next album?
I’m not sure. Whenever I’m producing a record with Amy or whoever, it’s always about the songs, so you have to hear the songs before you decide what you’re going to do. Obviously there’s a chemistry in the record that we made together. I hope if we did something together again it would be as good.
