I finally found the song, I was looking for it a while now!
So for anyone else who has heard it here are the lyrics I heard-

I lie down in a daze, 'round midnight, 'round midnight
Maybe it's that blue haze
That makes me sleepy
Smoke snakes out of the roach at me
Cause 'round midnight I'm so easy

Everything is fine, 'round midnight, 'round midnight
Me and rose' wine, we are best friends
Then I remember he is gone....
And so midnight, goes along

[Ad libs falsetto]

And so midnight goes along
It happened last May 'round midnight, 'round midnight
I remember the day
He put me in my place
I can never forget his face...

Cause midnight has its ways
Midnight has its ways
Midnight has its ways

Everything is fine, 'round midnight, 'round midnight
Me and rose' wine, we are best friends
Then I remember he is gone....
And so midnight, goes along
....

haha actually, I think she did write it... I didn't know before that there was 'round midnight alternate version, and these are the alternate lyrics written by her, and the released version was the cover.

I hope Salaam keeps dropping these gems on us. You know he's sitting on goldmine over there.

Yeah, she did write this version. Was originally a jazz standard by Thelonious Monk (who she loved), and if I'm aware, it was originally an instrumental song with no lyrics until someone wrote lyrics for it (lyrics in Amy's normal version of 'round midnight, and versions sung by Sarah Vaughan and others). I imagine she thought about trying to write her own lyrics to the Thelonious Monk tune, just for a challenge I suppose :)
