Alrighty...

Why did Janis' book only get released in the UK while Mitch's seemed to get released everywhere else?

I think a big factor is she isn't doing any publicity in the USA for it.

That's too bad they couldn't do a NY event or something with the Foundation's other office being there... it would bring in more money. Australia's Amazon does have the Kindle version available so it seems odd the US doesn't.

Edit: It slipped my mind that AU has a connection with the UK, that probably has something to do with it.

I had a giftcard so I ended up buying it and it's pretty decent so far. I'm only about a quarter of the way through but it's good to see Janis' insight into many of the things Mitch glossed over. She discusses Amy's motivations and attitude to things in a really thoughtful, intelligent way and it's incredibly insightful into Amy.

Reading about Amy's childhood was magical. I didn't want it to end. I wish Janis would write a whole book focusing on Amy's childhood.

Interestingly I went to the Family Portrait exhibition when it returned to London and they had loads of Janis’s and Mitch’s book on sale t the start. I went back again in the September and they had loads of Mitch’s left but Janis’s had all been sold. Speaks for itself

I'm not surprised. I could not have wished for a better biography than Janis' book. So precious. Thanks Janis!
