Sadly even if there is recordings, even THOUSANDS, they will be released, if the LABEL decide so...
It's is gonna be like Michael Jackson... there IS material, but people decided, that Michael wouldnt want those to be released...

"According to Remi, Winehouse didn't record just for the sake of recording. "She'd just do one take of a song, she'd write it and then she'd go sing it. Back to Black was a short album in comparison; it was like 37 minutes," Remi said of Winehouse's 2007 breakout album. "[She was like,] 'This is what I'm writing, this is what you get, underline, bye.' "

Still, the producer said there is some material waiting in the wings. "It's not that type of recording process, but there are definitely a lot of things that people haven't heard before or weren't aware of," he said."

"Grammy award-winning British singer Amy Winehouse said in a newspaper interview Thursday she was confident her long-awaited third album would be ready early next year.
"The album will be six months at the most," the 26-year-old soul diva told free paper Metro.
"It's going to be very much the same as my second album, where there's lots of jukebox stuff."

Bosses at Island Records have assured fans that Amy's comeback disc would be out this year, but Mark isn't convinced she's even penned any new tunes for it yet.

"Hope that Amy Winehouse would ever record and release some new material had all but faded until recently.
But it seems the award-winning singer is back in the studio and making music again, reuniting with Mark Ronson to collaborate on a new project.
Amy, 28, was pictured to-and-froing between the producer, at the Mayfair Hotel, and her north London studio last night working until 3.30am."

"Amy is said to have scrapped some songs because they were “anti” Blake — even though record bosses were said to be thrilled with most of the tracks.
“Amy has written some of her best songs ever for this album but she now feels like they don’t belong,”"

"Amy, 25, has fallen in love with St Lucia and the demos have a distinctly reggae feel. She feels that fits in with the Gorillaz’ (pictured right) style and is livid that her record company have stuck their oar in. She thinks she should be allowed to play with whoever she likes – and no wonder, with Eminem and Jay-Z vying to work with her."

"She could also pick up in the studio where she left off with rapper SNOOP DOGG. They have three tracks in the offing which ran out of steam in a green cloud of weed and a mountain of Monster Munch.""A source said: "Amy is looking forward to getting out to Miami again to finish the album with Salaam, as he was so good on Back To Black."It's a place that means a lot to her and could really provide some inspiration for new material"

"Inspired by her months in St Lucia Wino has apparently recorded demos with a Caribbean flavour for her third album. However The Sun claims her record label Island- the home of reggae- are less than happy with the new direction. A source told the paper: “She seems to have ditched her vintage soul sound and is now heavily influenced by Reggae. “Her bosses don’t think it’s a wise move to change her style so sharply and have told her that.”"

http://www.thesun.co...ticle978906.ece

"Despite the morbid nature of the new material, it's sure to be a hit with fans. The source added: "She's written quite a lot of the third album already.
"It is very, very dark but she produces some of her best music when she's in pain — and the past few months have been hell for her."

http://www.gigwise.c...-London-Studios

"Amy Winehouse's record label has hired three studios across London for the singer to record her new album, according to reports. Thank you Keight! Finally somebody put it all together. I didn't had the nerve... Ok, we don't have the most reliable sources, but there deffo is lots of recorded stuff. Hope we'll hear anything 'new' some time soon.

Will be difficult though since here dad and so on do have a say on what's goin to be released and what is not... and that's my icky point cuz they clearly wanna protect her, but of course they don't have the same relation to the songs, that amy might have had.
F.e. if some lyrics might have meant the world to Amy, her family might think it's 'too explicit', 'too revealing' or emotional unbeareable....it's a shit situation. They have all the rights in the world to have a say in this, but they are emotionally way to close to it, making it harder for them to decide, what really is truly amazing or should find the light of day... Not meaning I'd be good at it either....or would I? xD

Then there is these 'locked songs' thing.

Ha...but it's all about the money, so we'll hear something any time in the future. Then again, she maybe wouldn't like the song choice or production at all (lioness situation, of course I love it and have it at home, I treasure it. But to me, it's more of a rushed best of), on the other hand I do wanna hear all I can there possbily is, but uncontrolled leaks would make someone out there very poor and sad...best case scenario it's a dickhead anyways.
Music and business should have never mixed, and our girl should have never left -.-

I'm torn, I want this 3rd album way too much, we all waited way too long, this situation is way too shitty and I'm way too obsessed about this xD

Completely Agree, especially the point you made about the family and record company not having any idea what some lyrics might have meant to her - I didn't see it from that angle

@Amy Jade Harper, thank you(-: I scoured google news for information on the 3rd Album between 2006 and Jan-Jul 2011 and selected the most information rich (:

Near the end, a cameraman asks Amy if she got any work done in Jamaica, to which she replied "I did get a bit of work done, thank you for asking, it was a lot of fun" he then asks her if we will be hearing any new music soon, to which she replies "Won't be long, Won't be long at all" - Filmed in February 2010 - implies that her album was near completition, or at least most of the songs if she believes it "won't be long" bear in mind this was over a year before her shows in Brazil and Dubai - what is said in the video also backs up the idea of the promotional photos released in March to be promotional photos - that she was dusting off the album.

http://www.dailymoti...-come-out_music
Claims that Amy had 2 years worth of newly recorded music being sorted through for her third album.

http://trueslant.com...eam-or-reality/
Claims she was some way through recording her third album with Salaam Remi, also that collaborations with Questlove and Saadiq seem to have been underway.

http://www.gigwise.c...nal-Third-Album
Reports from Amy Winehouse's manager (Lucian Grange) that Amy had played him several Demos and well as several new Acoustic songs on her guitar for him (November 2008)

http://www.metro.co....ird-album-again
This source claims that Amy ditched many of her recorded songs which were "Anti-Blake" if this is true, it suggests that she could have actually finished her album as early as March 2010, but because she had recently reunited with Blake - she scrapped them (Despite the fact they would have most likely been sensational - Inspired by her pain á la Back to Black) She most likely then wrote and recorded new songs, leaving the original "Anti-Blake" songs out, perhaps this is why the album had been delayed for so long, maybe she was going to put the songs back in because of her relationship with Reg, or perhaps leave them out, of fear people may judge the songs or question her feelings for Blake.

Will Amy Winehouse’s Third Album See the Light of Day?

By Glen Levy | @glenjl | July 25, 2011 | +

Read more: http://newsfeed.time.../#ixzz1lMRWAGkq

In the aftermath of the singer’s passing at the age of 27, a different number has hovered into view: three.
Three would be the number of albums the British musician will ultimately have to her name if an unfinished last record receives a posthumous release. The album could then be added to her 2003 debut, Frank, and the sublime Grammy-award winning 2006 follow up, Back To Black.
In this day and age where careers don’t seem to be hampered by death (Tupac Shakur has arguably put out more music from beyond the grave than while on this mortal coil), the odds must point toward Winehouse’s third record eventually coming out.
(PHOTOS: The Life and Times of Amy Winehouse)
A year ago, she told the British tabloid newspaper, Metro, that, “The [new] album will be six months at the most … It’s going to be very much the same as my second album.” Even more recently, in April, her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield (who was the person Winehouse made her final ever public appearance with at the Roundhouse in North London last week) told Digital Spy that, “I have heard it, and it’s very good!”
As with so much surrounding Winehouse right now, it’s difficult to ascertain the actual truth. When the Daily Telegraph reports that “Winehouse had spent the past two years working sporadically on a third album. Sources said that the songs were at demo stage but there was ‘a lot of material’ available,” this appears as accurate an account as there may well be. One wonders whether the producer du jour, and the man who helped helm Back To Black, Mark Ronson, will get involved as it didn’t seem as if they had necessarily been seeing eye to eye.
The British newspaper is also claiming that Winehouse’s parents, Janis and Mitch (who is a singer in his own right) will have the final say on the release, though the music industry is of the opinion that it would outsell Back To Black‘s five million copies.
If iTunes is anything to go by since Winehouse passed away on Saturday, you’d have to agree. Within hours of Winehouse dying, Back To Black had gone back to the top of the iTunes chart, with sales of “Rehab” doing gangbusters business. But perhaps her parents want creative control for fear of the finished product getting lukewarm reviews, as was the case with the late Michael Jackson’s recent Michael album.
And if you look past the thought that Russell Brand’s letter of support may have done wonders for Winehouse’s own brand, the most important consideration is surely that, when you consider her relatively small body of work (you can pretty much listen to everything Winehouse ever recorded in the space of two hours), protecting her precious material is the key to ensuring that Winehouse isn’t forgotten about in the future. there is 3nd album, but i think someone is trying to convict the public that there isnt 3nd album, plus, there was much rumors about 3nd album, while she was alive and she very often hinted about it...

Amy Winehouse Promises New Album for January

At the premiere of her boyfriend Reg Traviss's movie Psychosis, Amy Winehouse promised Metro that, "The [new] album will be six months at the most ... It’s going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and the songs that are ... just jukebox, really." What could possibly go wrong? [Metro UK via NME]

Will Amy Winehouse's Third Album Be Released?

July 25, 2011 By THR Staff

After the initial shock of Amy Winehouse's death subsided, speculation turned would whether fans would ever get to hear her long-delayed third album.

The five-time Grammy winner was originally supposed to release the disc months ago. She had reportedly been working on the album off and on for the past two years.

Various reasons abound as to the reason for the delay: The U.K.'s Mirror claims she was "unwilling to produce a less-than-perfect record," while music news site KOvideo reports that she clashed with producer Mark Ronson, with whom she worked on her double-platinum album Back to Black.

Meanwhile, the Mirror reports there are three albums' worth of material already recorded and ready to be released, while the U.K.'s Telegraph claims that the songs are still at the demo stage but there is "a lot of material" from which to choose.

In April, singer Dionne Bromfield, who is Winehouse's goddaughter, told DigitalSpy.com that she had heard the record, calling it "very good."

But will fans ever get to hear it? That's apparently up to her parents, Mitch and Janis, who are said to have the final say on its release.

And it's not likely they will make a decision anytime soon. On Sunday, they issued a statement to reporters pleading for privacy.

"Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece," the statement said. "She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."

Some experts are saying that, should they choose to release their daughter's album, it could outsell Back to Black, which sold 5 million copies worldwide.

Phil Alexander, editor-in-chief of Mojo magazine, told the Telegraph that he believes the family will ultimately decide to release the disc.

"It is inevitable that her death will elevate her reputation and that there will be a third record released," he said. "It's difficult to place her in the pantheon of greats now because the truth is that her career was still in its early days. That's the tragedy of the situation. She was a wonderful writer. The thing that's very sad about this is that there was so much more to come."

Meanwhile, Adam Liversage of the British Phonographic Industry added that anticipation for the album was already high before her death, which now only fuels fan interest in hearing more from the singer.

"You might argue that Amy Winehouse was already in the pantheon of greats," he said. "Her songs have become standards. Already there has been a lot of anticipation for a new album and if it was released posthumously that will only increase the interest in her."

Back to Black was released in the U.S. in early 2007; it shot the singer to international fame after the release of its single "Rehab," and it earned Winehouse five Grammys at the 2008 ceremony.

Since news of her death broke early Saturday, sales of her records have skyrocketed. Back to Black re-entered the charts for the first time since its 2006 release in the U.K., hitting No. 59 in the few hours between reports of her death and the sales being tallied, the U.K.'s Press Association reported.

In addition, two singles from the disc -- "Back to Black" and "Rehab" -- also re-entered the singles chart, coming in at Nos. 81 and 181 on Saturday, respectively.

The Official Charts Co. said that overall, sales of Winehouse's albums -- which also include her 2003 debut, Frank -- increased 37 times between Friday and Saturday, while track sales were up by 23 times.

Back to Black also jumped to the top of iTunes album chart on Saturday afternoon in the U.S., while her video for "Rehab" also entered the top 10. The album also shot to the top of the iTunes U.K. chart.

Winehouse, 27, was found dead in her north London home Saturday after a long and widely reported battle with alcohol and drugs.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman told the BBC that the cause of death was as yet unexplained.

It's up to her family. This record is very valuable, and probably will cost much more in time, and they keep it in the vaults of Lioness. The Lioness:Hidden Treasures is just compilation album with her whole career recordings, but the actual one is somewhere out there...
I think her new songs are themes, which affect some personalities and now they prevent this songs to see the light of the day, because Amy always tell personal stories thru those songs.
Now i dont understand... at first, they say Dionne heard the album and she said its VERY GOOD, and now, the press try to convict us, that there is NO record... hello... do we look like sheeps????

If there are songs, the ones Amy supposedly said she didn't want to be released because they are to personal or about Blake, or for whatever reason, they are going to have to get past Mitch. I've read or heard Mitch saying on numerous occasions that he doesn't/won't listen to her B2B songs, so I would imagine that he wouldn't want these released. I also feel that Mitch would respect his daughters wishes over the almighty dollar, unlike the record company.
Amy, if you are up there listening, thank you for sharing the incredible soundtracks of your life ...

If he did decide to release it, I don't think money would be the only reason. As a dad proud of his daughters achievements, i could easily see him deciding to release it for the fans and on the foundations behalf. I would love to hear the album so much. Like i would kill for it, but i would respect Amy's wishes above all, so i can't be too disappointing if it never sees the light of day.

Since this is basically the archive thread for 3rd Studio Album information, I thought I should add this from another thread detailing an Article about the night Amy sang at City Burlesque:

"-even Winehouse’s management were unaware it was happening, and it was being described as an ‘album launch warmup’, although her label maintains there is no new material due until 2011."

"As she left the stage, we spoke about her long-awaited third album. Amy was confident about being in a productive phase. ‘I’m actually writing some of the songs again,’ she said. ‘I’m going for quality over quantity. It’ll be heavily jazz-influenced again. I’m probably gonna have ten to 12 tracks maximum. I wrote four tracks the other day, but threw them all away in the end ’cos I didn’t like them.’"

Amy sang at City Burlesque in October 2010.

-My own opinions on sources will be in size 1 font and in (brackets)
-I will bold specific, interesting parts of the text.

Video from JUNE 2010

In this video: “For sure. I think we’ll be talking about December, January – that kind of time.”
Then when asked how Amy is doing at the moment, Mitch replied: “Absolutely fantastic. Her new guy is terrific.”
There hasn’t been much news as far as collaborators on the album go, but thankfully Back to Black producer Mark Ronson has already been confirmed.
There’ll be something to hear quite soon. That’s all I can say. There’s something good coming.
(The final line in particular basically proves that Amy had recorded something new, if her Dad knows that 'there'll be something to hear quite soon' that he can't talk about it and that 'There's something good coming' Which gives us the idea that he has actually heard the new Amy studio recording)

"

So I don't keep close tabs on Amy, but is it true what the papers reported, that she basically did a whole vintage reggae-esque album while enjoying island life and her record label flatly rejected it? I thought that was such a cool concept, and was curious to see what she would make of her time in recovery.
I can see the record label wanting something more traditionally Back To Black/Duffy/Ronson-esque, though."

http://www.mirror.co...comeback-235238
"It's been three years, nine months and 14 days...and counting. But, finally, we can reveal Amy Winehouse is back with a long-anticipated release date for her comeback album. And what a stonker it promises to be. With enough material for "three separate" albums, the singer has given her record label the thumbs-up, promising an offering even more successful than her Grammy-award-winning classic Back To Black.Yep, the new album, as yet unnamed, will probably hit stores as early January, with 14 tracks set to be laid down."

http://www.theprophe...e-back-to-black
It turns out that those recent reports in the Mirror about Amy Winehouse’s third album dropping this January are true, with the cartoonish vamp herself confirming that the currently-untitled disc will drop within the next 6 months.
Amy let the news out while attending a movie premiere in London (pictured above).
The album will be six months at the most,” she said.
I tend to write everything first,” she said. “The live show is pretty much whatever it is for me.
And on the prospect of a return to form and proving herself again, Amy added: “I just can’t wait to have some new songs on stage, really."

(now, another thing - in December 2010, This link was made available: http://hmv.com/hmvwe...#anchorSynopsis, NOW: As of today, this now links you to her posthumous compilation album "Lioness: Hidden Treasures" However, obviously, Amy Winehouse was still alive in December 2010 - since this address now redirects to her "3rd" album, it must have originally been created for the intention of her actual THIRD STUDIO ALBUM - The True Third Album.

"It seems especially that she and Pete Doherty did a number of songs - like when she's on Buzzcocks and says she's going to his later because he wants to do a track. (Amongst other reports of them collaborating)"
(The video which this quote refers to):

(she mentions going to record a song with him at the beginning)

(this was posted by a contributor on another forum):

"So what do we know post Back to Black?
(these may not be distinct sessions but what I remember from press/rumours)

-The first "very dark" demos and duet with Pete Doherty
-The Bond theme session with Mark Ronson
-The Gorillaz Collaboration
-The St Lucia Sessions (reggae/ska tinged)
-The anti-Blake material
-The later "jukebox" proper 3rd album sessions with Ronson

I can definitely see that 3rd album coming out.
I can see that it will either by what was intended to be released.... or 'they' (i.e. Mitch, the label and Ronson) might review all of her unreleased material and select from it to release something that they feel will keep her legend (and post-humous income) alive
Can see a third album called "Cherry" - which was her nickname to her dearest friends!
I can also see a distinct "St Lucia Sessions" coming to light and if it's reggae in vibe then Remi would be best placed to produce and get the best out of it.
If they have three albums worth of material > I can see that they'd certainly bring out two if not the three...
I honestly think they will try to be respectful and not rush this -
The anniversary of her death would probably see an announcement... they wouldn't do some crass christmas cash in... but maybe announce something before years end" (I agree with this completely - I think that we will hear something more of Amy's work on the 1st anniversary of her death)

An interesting quote from the Prophet Blog:

"Is this album of scrappy bits & pieces just the Christmas cash-in that’s bound to sell off of Amy’s still relatively-recent death, while the real record of unreleased music from the troubled singer’s third album is sitting on a shelf waiting for a lucrative release in the future? Or is this it?"

Quote from a forum contributor, which I agree with:

"They're obviously saving the goodies for some form of third album which will probably be released next summer. I highly doubt this is all they could muster together." (if anything, the real "goodies" would be released next (this) summer, marking the anniversary of Amy's passing)

The singer, who is the goddaughter of the 'Back To Black' star, admitted that she has heard the highly-anticipated LP, but could not comment on the record's sound.

In an interview with Digital Spy, she said: "I have heard it, and it's very good! I hear she's touring a few places in Europe soon, too, but I don't know where. Obviously I'm saying no more!"
