just had a listen of the SHort Sniipet !! and im thinking !! mmmmmmmmm
not what i was exspecting ,, Maybe Dionne wud be better at it,,

Sadly i DONT Think amy will ever sound the same ????
i Hope im wrong,,....i was never a lover of the song in the first place
Dave stewart version was OK !!
But it wont be released as a single ,,Hopefully ??
i was hoping for something with more substance and creativity
i cant see us having a FULL NEW AMY Album in january .......

BUT....BUT......I THINK the record company SHOULD release

I love it. Her voice has changed, but i always felt she could be a little OTT during the Frank era anyway.

Nothing lasts forever, and the cracks and strains in her voice now just reflect the struggles she's been through. As with anything to do with Amy, the music and the personal life seem to just go hand in hand (which is probably why we are all on this forum in the 1st place)

She's still got it in my opinion.

I'm not sure about this song.. i don't think i'm gonna like it, though i'll wait to hear it all. But by saying that I don't mean that i think she's lost it.I'd like to hear something new from her, not a cover. And wish she'd take more care for her voice too, wouldnt harm (aka smokes)

Amy's jazz chops singing a white bread pop song like this sounds like Lesley Gore on morphine.

I think she was supposed to do You Don't Own Me, which would be awesome!
I was very excited to hear this, but I don't know what to think about those 30 secs. I'll wait to hear the whole thing before making any judgement.

I thought smoking was the alternative hehe.

Don't really have an opinion yet. I feel like the snippet only lasted a few seconds. I don't usually care for covers though.

I don't think it's the song, tho. It just seems like the drugs have taken a toll on her mental which imo, seems to be on and off because sometimes she'll seem sincerely in tune and the others she'll seem like a recovering Amy. I mean, she sounded better at her worst. Remember Bestival 08 Back To Black? This reminds me of her performance of "Valerie" with Mark Ronson at that award show.

guess we should try 2 remember that its a Jones song after all . Sometimes u cant mess 2 much with a classic song . Still i bet she made the song her own with her own style while still remaining true 2 his music and tribute.

i have bn thinkin about this for awhile and i have come to the conclusion that
a.) if you are listenin to the amazon short clip - the audio is already poor
b.) the chorus sounds weird

i think the chorus is just not complex enough for amy's voice. it is short, precise and a few words that cannot be expanded. i think thats the flaw.

i dunno i guess i agree with everyone we have to hear the whole thing.

i don't think it was that bad but her voice sounds... nasally? then again she sang puppy love drunk off her ass and sounded amazing so i don't even know. all i'll say is with the exception of the puppy love video i haven't heard her sound great live in years. i'm hoping that's just a temporary thing though.

I think the good thing about this is that we might get new Amy performances. I wonder if she's allowed in the US, yet.
