oh well, sorry for misleading you guys. i read Amy's tune would be the first out...instead, it's Akon doing a Brother's Johnson tune from 77. i find it weak compared to what The Brothers did, but what do I know

Now I have...briefly. There's no magic in the remake.

Just from listening to the 30-second clip a few times, I'm sorry to say I don't really care for it. There's a lot going on, as Pablo said. It sounds like Ronson threw everything but the kitchen sink in there. Her voice is drowned in over-production. I can't really judge it properly until I've heard the whole song, however, but from what I've heard, it's not really my thing.

I don't get why they didn't produce her vocals tho? Like, there are parts where they could've easily put on beat or fixed the melody.

I DUNNO!!!!!!!! I really can't wait to hear the full song, but, I really thought I'd be bouncing around with tears in my eyes (like the nite wit the specials) and I know its only a few seconds long, but at the moment i'm not, and if i'm being very honest, i'm upset that that was not my first reaction!

but i'll wait and see, the full version hopefully with set my heart racing!

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but for me personally, I don't think the song suits her voice at all. I don't like the sing to begin with - it's too gimmicky for me. I think it's too poppy, and fast for her and I feel like almost anyone could sing it. She needs something slower, that can really do justice to her voice.

Time, and other songs, will tell, I suppose.
