Do you think was forced to perform @ Belgrade's concert?

I've tried to figure out how she could have been left alone long enough to get into that shape. knowing her 'pitstop' on the way to rehab, did they not think she would try to make the same 'pitstop' before the show?
I think of the hairdresser, makeup artist, person that helps get her dressed...someone would have had to notice unless for whatever odd/off reason, she did her own hair/makeup/dressing for all her shows. maybe early on she insisted on doing her own hair/makeup for photo shoots, but now? I doubt it.
I'm not placing blame on anyone, just like the rest of you, I've gone over and over this whole scenario in my pinbrain trying to figure out the 'how'.

I know where you're at, I just don't get it myself. Seems to me there were enough people on the payroll but obviously not the right people. And so called good chums?

In the end of the day, I still feel like she didn't have good people around her. Even down to Mitch and Blake. She adored her father but from the outside looking in, I just don't get it. Her manager either. I understand Amy's going to live her life and if she's not working, you're not getting paid but is money that important?! I doubt they weren't dipping in her money anyways.
I agree with you on this I think her father may have only seen her as a performer and maybe avoided issues that mattered to her relating to other things. The Thursday before she died there is a photo of her sucking her thumb while leaning against her father - I mean what is that all about? There are other photos of her sucking her thumb?

Believe me, it's the most painful thing to watch. I can't believe that there was people backstage letting this happen. This is complete non-sense. They have a responsibility to what happened to Amy, I think, but no one is taking the blame.
Yep, you've say it
.why dont you come on over, Valerie?

I don't think we should be too hard on Amy's dad. It must be incredibly difficult to know what to do when your child is ill, not the kind of illness there is a straightforward treatment for, but mental illness and addiction, with no easy cure and a lot of stigma surrounding it. I know my parents didn't know how to deal with my illness when I was going through my worst times, I would never blame them for this though. I think Mitch tried his best to do what he thought was right, even though it may not always have been the best way. As for avoiding issues and only seeing her as a performer, there was probably a great deal of denial on his part, but that's only natural. He just didn't want his girl to be ill, so concentrating on her achievements was probably important for him. I don't think he only saw her as a performer though, he obviously loved Amy and worried about her a lot.

I guess my point is, it just seems that post-blake, post-divorce just took whatever wind she had left in her sails completely out.
I can remember seeing pic after pic last year and there just seemed to be something missing. I'd think it was just me reading too much into it and then another day, another pic. even in the pics w/her smiling there is just something missing.
I've wondered if it was just that she had so had it with the paps that maybe that was it but the performances too. that smile just seemed to be gone. I would scrutinize her performances in Brazil and look for any smile...any....and ever so often you would catch a glimmer of something but just not the same.
probably the closest I've seen is her photo shoot in harper's w/the black trench coat. those are darling and she looks so playful. the pics and video of her w/Mitch at City Burlesque she seemed at ease, and at Alex' engagement party so perhaps it was that she just felt comfortable around family/close friends and I've got it all wrong.
even her opening of her collection at the fred perry store seemed like she was not the same.
any thoughts or have i read too much into these pics and performances this past year or so?

I've had this notion in my mind for ages now. it just seems like she just did not look truly happy 2010=2011. It just seemed like every picture I would see, every performance, there was just something missing in her personality. Some cynics would say that it was the drugs that made her look happy back in 'the day' but there was something more to it. If you look at interviews and pics of her 2003,2004, (pre-blake) she looks upbeat.

I think so too... Don't like to speculate but it's probably due to the fact she was heavily medicated in her recovery, same as Britney who also suffers from bipolar disorder. They sorted themselves out, you can see them smiling and looking content and performing well (Brazil) but that spark in the eyes is gone.
